This layout is my very first attempt at using a cut file background in a scrapbook layout – I have used a simple flower border from UK Scrap Addicts which was released for National Scrapbook Day 2017. I chose a photograph of my Mum and I when I was little.
I decided to stay with a relatively simple layout as I wasn’t really sure what to do with the cut file initially but I’m really happy with how this layout turned out.
I decided to use a dark grey pearlised cardstock from my stash to back the cut file, before adhering a few Petaloo flower embellishments in two of the corners, backed my photograph and journalling onto patterned paper, also from my stash and added Nuvo drops to the centre of each flower.
Lastly, I added a few finishing touches and title “Best Friends” from a sheet of silver glitter thickers from Hobbycraft.

Thank you! As this was my first I felt a bit “lost” with what direction to take it so decided to keep it simple, but I think I like how it turned out, especially as it’s such a precious photograph. I would love to see your layout if you decide to use a cut file background xxx
