As someone who has been a lifetime crafter and has scrapbooked on/off since childhood, I have wanted to attend a crafting crop or retreat for a number of years but could never find anything suitable in either distance, price or to suit my health problems, so I was beginning to resign myself to the fact that it would never happen.
That was until one night I couldn’t sleep and I was browsing Facebook. I was looking through the various craft and scrapbooking groups which I am a member of and something caught my eye, I can’t remember what made me really look at it, but there it was “CROP CENTRAL” – a brand new monthly crop taking place in Staffordshire within the Midlands. Really? It must be expensive. Disabled access must be poor. Getting there will be a problem. All of these excuses came into my head as I really didn’t think I would be able to find something to close by and so perfect.
I began to read more about Crop Central and was talking to the very lovely lady (Cal Summers) who is the crop organiser… the crop will be held on a Saturday, so Dan will be able to take me and bring me back as he is workshop based at the weekends. The venue does have disabled access as this was a big factor for Cal when looking for a venue. The cost of a days crafting is only £10.00 per person, or for an additional £15.00 you can also get an amazing scrapbook kit.
A day’s scrapbooking AND a scrapbook kit for just £25.00 with disabled access and only 30 miles from home. Needless to say I instantly booked my place on this crop, told my bestie about it and she is coming too and the sooner it gets the more excited I am getting. It will be so nice to be able to work on scrapbook layouts alongside fellow scrapbookers and crafters while socialising with like-minded people 😀
